围绕发展绿色有机合成方法学方面的研究,尤其是通过选择性构建C-C和C-杂键合成生物活性功能分子,先后获得6项国家自然科学基金项目、湖南省杰出青年基金项目、教育部新世纪优秀人才支持计划、军工项目等资助。在芳香硝基类化合物的借氢还原及其转化反应、芳香亚磺酸参与的C-C和C-S键生成反应、环己酮脱氢芳构化及其转化反应、吲哚直接官能化反应、单质硫或者铵盐作为杂原子来源的C-杂键生成反应、二氧化碳选择性还原等方向取得了大量的研究成果。迄今已经发表包括Science, Angew. Chem. Int. Ed., Org. Lett., Chem. Eur. J., Adv. Synth. Catal., Chem.
